Mentors

Educate trains Ugandan university graduates to teach highschoolers about social entrepreneurship and leadership in order to effect positive social change throughout the country. By using this model, we have found some of the most effective and passionate teachers here. Teachers that students can relate to easily. Here are just a couple of the inspiring mentors on Educate's staff.

On the left of this pitcure is Barbara, one of our mentors. On the right is Irene Mutumba, an Ashoka Fellow. Irene works to train existing teachers to encourage leaderships skills in school. Barbara and I had an enlightening conversation with Irene last month. That interview will be published in Educate's next Newsletter.

James is another one of our mentors teaching our curriculum. James is an excellent communicator and leader, with some innovative business ideas up his own sleeve. Here, James is teaching at St. Marys College of Kisubi, just one of the 25 schools at which our mentors teach.
